The Utopia Series of Yin Zhaoyang is the continuation of his former creation. As a young artist born in 1970s, Yin Zhaoyang stands from a distance away, looking back on the historical cultural phenomena, which are not belonging to his times. The artist’s destination is to find the historical origins and deeper roots of the current social experience. In these series, Yin Zhaoyang explored the new painting language, especially in the space and light aspect. The effect of the picture by new language reflected the artist’s intention to keep a historical distance away from the objects he representing, which is a presupposition of historical observation. In this work, the artist uses this king of method deliberately setting a gap between him and the sculpture of the certain historical times.
